Kansas City I-Club 2008-09 Membership Drive
If you are currently or have been a member of the Kansas City Iowa Club in the past look for your membership renewals in the mail in mid-August for the 2008-09 year. We have a goal of increasing our membership to at least 400. Please send in your renewals as its just $10 to help support the local club and all proceeds go to support the University of Iowa! You also receive discounted t-shirts prices, reduced admissions to club events, and a discount card for The Other Place. University of Iowa Flood Relief – Kansas City Iowa Club T-Shirts
We have commissioned a new club t-shirt for this year. We have come up with a design in support of the flood relief effort at the University of Iowa with all profits from the shirt going to the University of Iowa Flood Relief Fund. T-shirt prices will be $10 for club members and $15 for non-members. We plan to have the opportunity to order them with your membership renewal letters, as well as on our website, or at any game watches or other club functions. Kansas City Iowa Club Gives Back!
The Greater Kansas City Iowa Club recently contributed $500 to the Carver Hawkeye Renovation Fund and $500 to the construction of the new Boathouse to support women’s crew. Thanks for everyone’s membership and continued support as we look to increase our impact at the University of Iowa!

4 th Annual Cy-Hawk Golf Tournament Champions!
Congratulations for all those who played in this year’s Cy-Hawk event as the Iowa Club won for the third time in four years. Thanks to all the sponsors and participants this past year. We also donated $500 of the proceeds from the event to the American Red Cross in support of the disaster recovery efforts in Parkersburg. Book early for next year as this tournament has been a great success, it is a wonderful time, and it has been selling out fast!

Hawkeye Hold’em Tournament
Alright you card sharks, we are putting the final touches on a monthly Hold’em Tournament to be held at The Other Place for this upcoming year. Look for it to start in September with prizes to be won, and all profits going to support the Iowa Clubs fundraising goals. We may even need to come up with a prized bracelet for the Grand Champion.

Hawkeye Connections Directory
The Iowa Club will be putting together an annual directory to be sent out to the entire membership which will be a resource for local Iowa affiliated merchants products and services. Should you have a business, product or work for a company that would like to be listed, ads will run just $50 each. We will also be able to include our local Iowa Club and University information to let you know how to stay connected and get involved in supporting the club and the Hawks!
